Planning arrival the day before a Cannes trip
Arriving the day before separates the journey from your first appointment. At Cannes Motel in Cannes La Bocca, three things deserve a little planning: settling in, preparing what you need for the morning and choosing your route. Here is how to organise that first evening without filling it with tasks.

1. Build your plans around check-in
Check-in at Cannes Motel is from 15:00, and check-out is by 12:00. For a one-night stay before a trip, these two points matter as much as the time of your first appointment. If you expect to arrive before 15:00 or late in the evening, contact reception to discuss the arrangements for your circumstances.
Keep your arrival plans simple: reach 245 avenue Francis Tonner, settle in, then prepare for the following day. Free private parking on site lets you park near your room. Pack an overnight bag and keep the documents or clothes needed for your departure together, rather than sorting everything out in the morning.
2. Choose a room for the night you need
For one or two guests, the Standard double room is on the first floor. It has a 180 × 200 cm king-size bed, a desk area and a private bathroom with WC. The desk provides somewhere to gather your documents for the next day; free WiFi is also among the hotel’s amenities.
If two of you are travelling and prefer separate beds, the Standard twin room has two 90 × 200 cm beds and a desk area with extra sockets. These rooms are on the ground or first floor. For up to four guests, the Family quadruple room has one double bed and two small beds, with an entrance through a small private garden.
3. Plan the morning’s journey, not just the address
Before unpacking, identify your exact destination: an appointment in La Bocca and an arrival near the Palais require different plans. Georges Méliès campus is approximately 400 m away, or five minutes on foot. Cineum Cannes is around 500 m away, a walk of about seven minutes.
For the Palais des Festivals and the start of the Croisette, allow approximately 5.9 km and eleven minutes by car in light traffic. Cannes railway station in the centre is around 5.7 km away. Do not use these figures to leave at the last possible moment: distances and journey times are approximate, and travel times increase considerably during major events.
4. Decide the evening before whether to drive
Free private parking can make settling in easier without committing you to using the car for every journey. The Saint-Cassien Cineum stop on avenue Francis Tonner is approximately 400 m from Cannes Motel, or five minutes on foot. It is served by Palm Express A, part of the Palm Bus network.
The route serves the centre, Gare Maritime and Hôtel de Ville/Pantiero, near the Palais and Old Port, continuing to Cannes railway station. Check Palm Bus timetables for your travel day and allow time to walk to the stop. Choosing your transport the evening before saves you from comparing options just as you need to leave.
5. Keep the evening light and practical
Cannes Motel has a restaurant, a bar and a garden, and offers breakfast. If your evening or early departure depends on eating on site, ask reception about arrangements and hours. It is worth settling that question before building the rest of your plans around a meal.
There is an outdoor swimming pool in the garden, beneath the pines. Its opening period and hours depend on the season, so enquire at reception rather than making a swim an essential part of the evening. Preparing for the morning need only involve a few small tasks: charging devices, gathering documents and choosing what to take with you.
6. Think about check-out on your first evening
If you are staying for just one night, decide what needs to leave the room with you in the morning. An appointment that runs over could make returning before midday difficult. Plan your departure around the 12:00 check-out time rather than relying on a quick visit between commitments.
For questions about your arrival, contact reception on +33 4 22 46 26 00. The purpose of arriving a day early is straightforward: settle the practical details before your first appointment, so you can start the day with your route chosen and everything you need already packed.
